Easy follows the journey of Jacqueline Wallace, a college student who is struggling to move forward after a traumatic event. She is just beginning to deal with the aftermath of being sexually assaulted at a party, which leaves her emotionally shattered and unsure of her place in the world. As she tries to focus on her studies and maintain some semblance of normalcy, she meets Lucas, a mysterious and brooding young man with a painful past of his own. Lucas is a fellow student at her college, and despite their differences, he quickly becomes someone Jacqueline can lean on, offering her unexpected support and understanding. Through their growing connection, Jacqueline starts to confront her trauma and reclaim control over her life.
As their relationship deepens, Jacqueline’s internal battles are mirrored by Lucas’s own struggles with his past. Lucas, who has his own dark secrets, remains distant and protective, but his vulnerabilities begin to surface as he becomes more involved with Jacqueline. The novel explores themes of trust, healing, and emotional growth, as both characters confront their fears and past experiences. Through their interactions, they each learn valuable lessons about love, forgiveness, and the power of human connection. Easy ultimately portrays a story of resilience, where two people help each other find strength and healing, moving from pain to self-empowerment.
